NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSIC

 

The National Museum of African American Music will be the only museum of its kind dedicated to the multiple dimensions of African American music and a point of pride for all Tennesseans. It will anchor Fifth + Broadway, encapsulating 55,000 square feet of space in the center of the project.

The Museum will become a pilgrimage destination for fans around the world, chronicling some of the most influential artists and musicians of all time. It adds music diversity that solidifies Nashville’s Music City name, helping to ensure this status and the attention of tourists for generations to come. By showcasing over 50 music genres created or impacted by African Americans, the museum will honor the legacy and legends of this diverse music and detail the impact this music has on musicians and consumers around the world.

The Museum will be an active part of the Nashville community, partnering with schools and businesses (locally and nationally) to promote the story and influence of African American Music.
